Dear Colleagues:

The new year has arrived and—with it—a new call for Pitt Seed Project ideas.

In 2018, I funded 23 incredible projects pitched by you—Pitt faculty and staff. Today, these projects are in motion and helping to advance The Plan for Pitt in meaningful ways.

This year, we’re at it again—seeking Pitt Seed Project proposals that can fuel the University’s continued evolution as a world leader in learning, teaching and research. And I need your help.

Like last year, this opportunity is open to faculty and staff members across all five Pitt campuses. Each proposal must outline a clear vision for advancing The Plan for Pitt and—if selected—can receive up to $50,000 in funding support. However, unlike last year, a letter of intent is required to start the application process, with a due date of Feb. 8, 2019.

You can learn more—including full details about deadlines, eligibility and the selection process—by visiting the Pitt Seed Project webpage. We have also updated the program’s question-and-answer page and will be hosting information sessions on three different dates in January (see section 9 for full details).

I’m excited to kick off year two of this outstanding program and, once again, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on how we can make Pitt an even greater place to work, teach and learn.

Sincerely,

Patrick Gallagher
