Dear Pitt Faculty and Staff:

The Plan for Pitt maps out our University’s continued evolution as a world leader in learning, teaching and research. As an institution, our capacity to successfully and strategically advance this plan hinges on one vital component: You.

In recognition of the leading role that you play in propelling the Plan for Pitt forward, I am proud to announce our first-ever application call for Pitt Seed Projects. This new initiative, funded through my office, broadens the ways in which you can directly and actively contribute to Pitt’s strategic transformation. At the same time, this initiative gives me an opportunity to identify and support some of the best and brightest ideas emerging from our own community.

All faculty and staff members are eligible to apply for a Pitt Seed Project, which must support one or more of the six goals and strategies outlined in the Plan for Pitt. Chosen applicants can receive up to $50,000 to advance their project, and this call for submissions closes on March 5, 2018, by noon EST.

Visit the Pitt Seed Project webpage for additional details about this exciting opportunity, including everything you need to know about the program’s eligibility and selection process. Got a question? Read answers to frequently asked questions about the Pitt Seed Project.

I hope that you will consider submitting an application, and I look forward to hearing your ideas on how we can make Pitt an even greater place to work, teach and learn.

Sincerely,

Patrick Gallagher
