John Elliott has served as Pitt's Director of Internal Audit since 1995. Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance, and consulting services to the University community. Elliott has served on numerous University committees and has held leadership roles on University-wide projects, including NCAA Certification, Y2K and Enterprise Risk Management.
Prior to joining the University, Elliott was a senior manager in the Pittsburgh office of Deloitte, where he worked from 1983 to 1992.
Elliott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with a major in accounting, from Gannon University and an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University. A certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, Elliott has been an active member of the Pittsburgh Chapters of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, where he has served as an Officer or Board member for more than 15 years. He lives in Bethel Park, Pa., with his wife and two daughters.
