Gismondi Neighborhood Education Program
Chancellor Gabel joined (from left to right) Lisa Gismondi; Pitt trustee John Gismondi (A&S ’75, LAW ’78); and Lina Dostilio, vice chancellor of engagement and community affairs, to celebrate the launch of the Gismondi Neighborhood Education Program, which was made possible by the latest gift from The Gismondi Foundation. The Gismondis have given more than $1 million to strengthen and expand the educational support Pitt provides across its Neighborhood Commitments in Homewood, the Hill District, Oakland and Greater Hazelwood.

During homecoming, Chancellor Gabel participated in a Q&A moderated by Kris Davitt, senior vice chancellor for philanthropic and alumni engagement, and attended by about 70 alumni and staff members. Chancellor Gabel answered questions about her initial impressions of Pitt and what impacts Pitt is uniquely positioned to make in the years ahead.
